What are the system requirements?
The Somfy myLink requires 3 things:
- A wireless router running 2.4 or 5 GHz networks with WEP, WPA2, open and mixed mode encryption
- A mobile device running iOS 7 or higher, or an Android device running Jellybean or higher
- Radio Technology Somfy® (RTS) products, fully pre-programmed with limits and “my” position set, and an RTS control device
Where can I download the myLink™ App?
Somfy 74300 Manual Pdf Deutsch
The myLink™ App is available for download on the Apple App Store and on Google Play.
Is internet required?
Only for remote access. However, a WiFi network is always required.
What is different with the newer myLink (Rev 2.0)?
The next generation myLink device sports a sleek, enclosed look and features 5GHz WiFi network support (in addition to 2.4GHz). And, a completely redesigned antenna offers more reliable RF performance. The setup button has been moved from the side to the bottom of the device. Newer myLink device IDs all begin with “CC” (ex: CC00100091) for easy identification.
Where can I use myLink?
Residential or light commercial environments.
How many myLinks will I need?
Each myLink supports up to 5 channels of RTS products. Somfy recommends at least one myLink interface per room or zone. This will determine how many myLinks you will need. A single system can support up to 10 myLinks.
What do I need to start using myLink?
- A healthy, robust, reliable wireless network running 2.4 or 5GHz networks with WEP, WPA2, open and mixed mode encryption.
- Your WiFi network name (SSID) and password (if required).
- iOS device running iOS 7 or higher or Android device running Jellybean or higher.
- A fully-configured, operational RTS system (with operable transmitter to “copy & paste” into the myLink) with limits & MY position set.
How do I share control? How many phones/tablets can control a myLink system?
You can share control by giving users your 4-digit system PIN while they are connected to the same LAN as the myLink(s). And, it can be shared with many users.
Will settings be lost after a power failure?
No
The myLink asks for me to allow Location services. Why do I need this?
The myLink app prompts you to allow location services for the most accurate sunrise/sunset times. If you decline, sunrise/sunset times will be calculated by time zone, which could be less accurate.
What is the warranty?
The myLink is backed by Somfy’s standard 5 year warranty.
What apps are available? How much do they cost?
iOS (iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad) & Android (phones and tablet), and both are free.
INSTALLATION
How many RTS products can a myLink control?
A single myLink can control up to 5 RTS channels. A channel can be a single motor or a group of motors. If you need more than 5 RTS channels, you can add more myLinks to the system at any time.
Where should I plug in the myLink interface?
Range varies from site to site, but it is more important to be closer to the RTS product than the WiFi router.
Can I use a RTS Repeater with a myLink system?
Yes. However, adding another myLink nearer the motorized products you wish to control adds more value and provides a better user experience.
How close does the myLink have to be to the RTS product?
RTS range depends on a lot of factors. The myLink is a 5-channel zone controller, so one per room could be enough. However, in areas with a lot of RF interference, or in larger spaces with many motorized products, more myLinks might be needed.
What affects Radio Technology Somfy range?
Many environmental factors can affect RF signals – building materials such as steel and concrete; lots of other RF products; installation near a hospital or airport; areas with many WiFi networks in close proximity.
I am a professional window covering installer. Does the homeowner need to be present during installation?
No. Installers can install the myLink and share the system PIN with the homeowner after setup is complete.
LIVING WITH MYLINK
What is the status indicator and what does it show?
The status indicator is the white circle in the upper right corner of the myLink app. There are 3 possible states:
White O: mobile device can connect to the myLink(s) and commands are being sent over the local WiFi network
White O with sight: mobile device can connect to the myLink(s) and commands are being sent over the internet
White O with exclamation: the mobile device cannot connect to a myLink/myLinks
Can the PIN be reset?
Yes, but the PIN would have to be changed on all myLinks and connected mobile devices.
Why is there a delay between multiple RTS motorized products activating during a schedule?
White O with exclamation: the mobile device cannot connect to a myLink/myLinks
Can the PIN be reset?
Yes, but the PIN would have to be changed on all myLinks and connected mobile devices.
Why is there a delay between multiple RTS motorized products activating during a schedule?
If there are multiple channels in a scene that’s been added to a schedule, there is an FCC-mandated delay of 17 seconds. To avoid this, consider creating a group of all desired motorized products and adding that to the scene/schedule instead.
What does the LED on the myLink interface mean?
- Solid Red: Setup mode. The myLink is ready to accept WiFi network information or have its PIN changed. This is the mode the myLink should be in out of the box.
- Solid Green: myLink is successfully connected to a WiFi network
- Slow Blinking Green: myLink is trying to connect to a WiFi network/is disconnected from its known WiFi network
- Solid Orange: Firmware update mode
- Slow Blinking Red: myLink is scanning both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands for nearby WiFi networks
- Single Orange Blink: myLink is sending RTS commands (applies to current myLinks only)
- Flashing Red: RTS signal transmission (applies to legacy myLinks only)
